Rohr Hints At Starting Line-Up : How Team A & B Lined Up In Penultimate Training Session
Published: March 22, 2018
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has given a hint of the eleven players that will start Friday night's pre-World Cup friendly against Poland at the Municipal Stadium in Wrocław, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.
If the training session on Wednesday afternoon is anything to go by, the German has opted to start Deportivo de La Coruña goalkeeper Francis Uzoho ahead of Enyimba's Ikechukwu Ezenwa, who only joined the camp just before the start of the session.
Amkar Perm defender Brian Idowu got Rohr's nod to start at left-back for the Team A ahead of Monaco's Elderson Echiejile, otherwise there are no major surprises on how he plans to set up the team on Friday.
In a 4-2-3-1 formation, Rohr tested out a squad consisting of Uzoho, Abdullahi Shehu, Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong, Brian Idowu, Eddy Onazi, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Victor Moses and Odion Ighalo for the Team A.
The second unit consisted of Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awaziem, Elderson Echiejile, Ola Aina, Stephen Eze, John Ogu, Uche Agbo, Joel Obi, Moses Simon and Ahmed Musa.
Torino midfielder Joel Obi later replaced Eddy Onazi in the Team B during the training game.
As previously reported, ADO Den Haag right-back Tyronne Ebuehi is rated doubtful for the game as he had an individual session yesterday.
