Chelsea Defender Ola Aina: England-Nigeria Will Be An Exciting Game
Published: March 27, 2018
Chelsea defender Ola Aina believes the Super Eagles have a great squad despite several young players in their ranks, including Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi.
The versatile fullback has echoed the statements of Nigeria Football Federation supremo Amaju Pinnick, saying that this young team will take the world by storm in the coming years.
''If you look at the team right now it is exciting, we have the balance of older senior players and obviously young ones like myself,'' Ola Aina told ExtraTimeSoccerLive.
''There are young ones but the young ones are very experienced as well like Ndidi, it is exciting to play with these players.
''They have good experience, good quality and hopefully in the years to come we can take Nigeria further up.''
Nigeria will face England in their penultimate pre-World Cup friendly on June 2, and Aina, a former England U19 skipper, is understandably looking forward to the clash at Wembley.
''Two young squads definitely going against each other will be an exciting game, you will see a lot of opportunities for both sides as well.
''As for predictions and scoreline, we don't know what is going to happen on the day and you all know football is a funny game.
''By God's grace things go our way. As a group we take things step by step. When the 2nd of June comes we will face it head-on,'' concluded Ola Aina.
Aina was a non-playing substitute in Nigeria's 1-0 win over Poland last Friday and is in line to play his third match for the Super Eagles against Serbia at the Hive Stadium tonight.
