Ex-Golden Eaglets, Flying Eagles Star Awoniyi Returns To Liverpool
Published: March 30, 2018
Taiwo Awoniyi has to return to Premier League side Liverpool at the end of this season.
According to voetbalbelgie.be, Belgium First Division outfit Royal Excel Mouscron did not insert a purchase option into the loan deal that brought the former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles star to the club last summer.
Liverpool cannot keep Awoniyi at Anfield next season as he is not yet eligible to play in England and they will have to discuss with clubs interested in the services of the Nigerian.
RSC Anderlecht, AA Gent and KRC Genk are rumored to be monitoring the situation of the striker with a view to signing him on loan next season.
Since joining the Reds in 2015, Awoniyi played on loan at FSV Frankfurt and NEC before joining Royal Excel Mouscron.
This season, the 20-year-old has scored 8 goals and notched 6 assists in 29 matches across all competitions.
