Sunderland Coach To Liverpool Loanee Ejaria: Go And Shine Against Norwich
Published: April 10, 2018
Sunderland coach Chris Coleman has hinted that ex-Golden Eaglets invitee Ovie Ejaria will be named in the starting line-up for tonight's Championship clash against Norwich City and has backed the midfielder to shine.
Ejaria has not made the Black Cats starting eleven in their last three games, making cameo appearances against Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United and was omitted from the match day squad vs Derby, but is set to return due to an injury sustained by Paddy McNair.
''That means Ovie could get a chance against Norwich, it is a great game for him to go and shine and show what he has got,'' Coleman was quoted as saying by Chronicle Live.
''He has shown some really good things, some things you can tell he has been in U23 football.
''He has all the tools but hasn’t had the experience, he will get it.
''Ovie, he has the capacity to turn a game with one slick pass. He is brave and always wants the ball, he has been caught in possession now and again.
''The level we play you can’t compare it to U23 football.''
Ejaria joined Sunderland, who also pay the wages of Joel Asoro and Josh Maja, in the winter transfer market to experience first team football after failing to break into the first team of Liverpool this season.
