Nigeria's World Cup Rivals Sweating On The Fitness Of First-Choice GK, Mourinho ConfirmsNigeria's World Cup rivals, Argentina, are sweating on the fitness of their first-choice goalkeeper Sergio Romero a month before national team boss Jorge Luis Sampaoli is expected to announce his roster for the 2018 World Cup.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho confirmed on Friday that the South American goalkeeper will not be in the squad to face West Brom at old Trafford in two days time.

Romero has not been included in the Red Devils match day squad for Premier League matches since March 10 after picking up an injury as he collided with former Chelsea striker Diego Costa in an international friendly against Spain on March 27, which led to his substitution in the 22nd minute.

''Everyone is perfect, apart from Romero. All the few players [who were injured] are ready to play,'' Mourinho told MUTV.

Romero has first-hand knowledge of the Super Eagles, having faced them three times in his career - at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups and in a friendly staged in Bangladesh seven years ago.

As for Nigeria, coach Rohr received bad news after Enyimba glovesman Ikechukwu Ezenwa sustained an injury in a NPFL clash vs Kwara United this week but claims he will resume training as from today.
