Official: Ex-Dream Team VI Invitee Uche Joins Heart of Midlothian WEF July 1
Published: April 18, 2018
Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian Football Club have pulled off a transfer coup by signing highly-rated Nigerian striker Uche Ikpeazu, 23.
The two-year deal agreed with the Cambridge United frontman will become activated on July 1 when his contract with the EFL League Two club runs out.
The 2017-2018 campaign will definitely be Uche's most productive season as a professional, having netted 13 goals in 38 appearances for Cambridge United in the league, while notching up five assists.
Few years back, he was the most feared striker of Nigerian descent in the U18 Leagues, scoring goals aplenty for Reading youth team which earned him a move to Watford in 2013.
He enjoyed loaned spells at Crewe Alexandra, Doncaster Rovers, Port Vale and Blackpool during his time at the Hornets before he was released in the summer of 2016.
Cambridge United had offered the former Dream Team VI invitee a new deal which he rejected, paving the way for him to join Hearts as a free agent.
