Nigeria's Record Appearance Holder In UYL Hails Chelsea For Reaching Final
Published: April 20, 2018
Nigeria international Ola Aina has congratulated Chelsea on qualifying
for the final of the UEFA Youth League following their shootout win over
Porto in Nyon on Friday afternoon.
The right-back has fond memories of the UEFA Youth League, having represented Chelsea in the competition for three successive seasons and winning the title twice.
Aina has made the most appearances by a Nigerian player in the UYL, twenty in total in three seasons; no player representing an English club has played more games than him.
In the coming years, Ola's brother, Jordan Aina, may follow in his footsteps if he remains at Chelsea. The 16-year-old was registered for the UYL but has yet to debut or make the match day squads.
''This is what I like to see , well done to the @ChelseaFC u19’s another youth league final ,I’m sure you will bring it back home🏆,'' posted Ola Aina on Twitter.
