Chelsea Plan To Sell NFF Target To Fund Deal For Anthony Martial
Published: May 02, 2018
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has started making plans for summer reinforcements and one of the players being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Manchester United's Anthony Martial, according to reports.
The Daily Mail says Chelsea will go in for Manchester United wantaway forward Anthony Martial and the Blues will attempt to generate funds through selling some stars.
Manchester United spent a total of 58 million pounds to sign Martial from Monaco in 2015, but after an impressive start, the 22-year-old striker has lost his first-team spot under Jose Mourinho.
Money should not be a problem for Chelsea but they have to offload some of their players because of UEFA Financial Fair Play Regulations (FFP).
Nigeria Football Federation target Tammy Abraham is among the four players Chelsea may sell, the others being Michy Batshuayi, Kenedy and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
In the second half of the Premier League season, Abraham's goals have dried up, netting only once in ten matches, and the striker no longer commands a starting spot at Swansea City, where he was farmed out on loan for the entirety of the season.
The England U21 international penned a new five-year deal with Chelsea ten months ago before joining the Swans on loan.
