Published: May 04, 2018
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Sergio Aguero will be in tip-top condition before the start of the 2018 World Cup.
The Argentina international, a sure candidate to make his country's World Cup roster, has not played for the Premier League champions since their loss to Liverpool in the Champions League quarterfinals.
Aguero had to undergo knee surgery in Barcelona and his rehabilitation is going according to plan.
Ahead of City's Premier League clash vs Huddersfield Town, Guardiola told Manchester City's official website: ''I have had information from [Dr Ramon] Cugat that he will arrive okay [at the World Cup]''.
Aguero was a member of the Argentina squad at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups, he is still searching for his first goal in the tournament after eight appearances.
The former Atlético Madrid marksman faced Nigeria in the final of the 2005 FIFA U20 World Cup and the Olympic Games showpiece three years later in Beijing.
