Super Eagles GK Coach Yet To Show Up In RSA, Akpeyi Prepared For World Cup Duties
According to information gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com, Super Eagles goalkeeper coach Alloy Agu is still in the country amid speculations in the local media that Daniel Akpeyi is being put through his paces by the former MVV Maastricht first choice goalie.

With the Super Eagles set to open their World Cup training camp in less than ten days, it is believed that Agu will shelve his plans to visit South Africa and will work with the goalkeeper in Uyo and Port Harcourt before the national team's trip to the United Kingdom.

Akpeyi is not bothered over the non-arrival of Agu, saying he is good form ahead of the 2018 World Cup and prepared to be the number one keeper.

Indeed, the former Warri Wolves shot-stopper has impressed for Chippa United this season, posting 11 shutouts from 24 appearances in all competitions while conceding 17 goals, but the jury is still out on him after that blunder in a pre-World Cup friendly against Argentina last November.

The 31-year-old was named in Nigeria's provisional World Cup roster for the 2014 World Cup but was eventually axed from the 23-man squad.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Francis Uzoho are Akpeyi's rivals for the goalkeeping spot in Russia.
