Injury-Free Echiejile 'Cooling Off' In United States, Reports For International Duty Next Week
Monaco defender Elderson Echiejile has dispelled fears that he is not in tip-top condition before he reports for international duty next week.

The experienced left-back spent the second half of the 2017-2018 campaign on loan at Belgian outfit Cercle Brugge and has not played competitively since February 25.

''They ended their season early in March, but he was training and playing friendly matches with the club,'' a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com.

''He rounded up his activities with the club a few days ago and is holidaying in the United States. He is coming in soon, he has no injury and he is very, very fit.''

With Echiejile's contract at Monaco set to run out at the end of next month, the former Bendel Insurance star is hoping to put himself in the shop window if he's named in Nigeria's 23-man squad for the World Cup.

The 30-year-old started all of Nigeria's five games in the third round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers but did not travel for the forfeited match against Algeria.
