Obi Mikel Speaks Of His Desire To Play For Nigeria At World Cup
Former Chelsea star John Obi Mikel is delighted to link up with the Super Eagles at their training camp in Uyo ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The Tianjin Teda midfielder has shown that he is totally committed to the Super Eagles cause, as he was expected to begin training with the team as from Saturday, May 26 as recommended by football governing body, Fifa.

So far, Mikel has had a fine season with Tianjin Teda, starting and finishing all their matches in the Super League, scoring one goal with two assists to his name.

''I am happy to be here. It is a huge privilege to play with this team and represent Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup,'' Mikel said in brief statement to the Nigerian Federation.

The Super Eagles will fly out to the English capital on May 30 for a friendly against England and Mikel will be looking forward to the prospect of facing his old Chelsea teammates Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Gary Cahill.

Mikel started every single game played by Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
