Super Eagles Coach Rohr Reveals The 24th Player He's Taking To The World Cup
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has revealed that Wolverhampton Wanderers netminder Carl Ikeme will be part of Nigeria's squad at the 2018 World Cup, but as the unregistered twenty-fourth player.

Nigeria have included an extra player on their roster in previous editions of the World Cup, with Clemens Westerhof and Festus Onigbinde taking Tijani Babangida and Peter Odemwingie to USA 1994 and Korea/Japan 2002 respectively.

Ikeme, who is recovering from illness, played in the second round of the African World Cup qualifiers against Swaziland and was in between the pipes when Nigeria beat Zambia away in their first game of the third round.

''Until the last moment, there is a possibility of bringing in these players. Carl Ikeme will be our 24th player to the World Cup,'' Rohr told reporters.

The German football tactician has explained why the Super Eagles chose Uyo as their training camp ahead of the friendly vs England : ''All the time we play in Uyo, we felt at home. We brought the pre-World Cup camp to Uyo, to remind the fans that we started here".

The Super Eagles players and officials departed Uyo for Port Harcourt on Saturday, May 26.
