Russia-Bound Simy Reacts After Eye-Popping Debut For Super Eagles
Crotone striker Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo was delighted with his performance on his full debut for the Super Eagles in their 1-1 draw with Democratic Republic of Congo on Monday evening.

A goal would have been the icing on the cake for Simy but he was denied by the woodwork and goalkeeper in the first and second stanza respectively.

The Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium was not up to standard and it is thought the poor conditions of the pitch prevented most of the Super Eagles stars from playing their A-game.

''I think we had a good outing given the conditions of the game but there's always a lot of room for improvement,'' said Simy Nwankwo to allnigeriasoccer.com.

''No disappointments at all not to score, it is part of the game of football.

''What is important is the work we all put in for the team and hopefully goals will come in the next opportunities.''

The 26-year-old Simy impressed in practice games leading up to the game with the Leopards and is expected to travel with the national team to London for their friendly with England this week.
