The One And Only Alaba, West Ham's Arnautović Visit Super Eagles Training Camp
Published: June 09, 2018Popular Bayern Munich wing-back David Alaba and some of his Austria teammates visited the Super Eagles at their training camp in Bad Tatzmannsdorf on Friday, June 8.
The Nigeria Football Federation have posted a 59-second video on Twitter, showing Alaba and his teammates watching one of the Super Eagles workouts yesterday.
The versatile wing-back was born in the Austrian capital, Vienna, twenty five years ago to a Nigerian father and Filipino mother.
Prior to his competitive debut for Austria against France in a World Cup qualifier in 2009, former Nigeria international Benedict Akwuegbu had approached the leadership of the Nigerian Federation regarding the possibility of
capping Alaba but he didn’t receive a positive response from the
Federation.
Alaba wished the Nigeria National Team all the best at the World Cup and thanked Nigerians for their support.
West Ham striker Marko Arnautović also wished the Super Eagles well in their adventure in Russia but pointed out that he has Serbian blood flowing in his veins, meaning he will be rooting against Nigeria if they face the Europeans in the knockout rounds of the World Cup.
The Austria national team are holding a training camp very close to the Super Eagles Avita Resort camp ahead of Sunday's friendly against Brazil.
