Joel Obi Attracting Porto, Benfica Attention; Mainz, Espanyol Scout Super Eagles Stars
Published: June 11, 2018Joel Obi is attracting interest from foreign teams in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
Tuttosport has reported that the Nigeria international is on the radar of Portuguese giants Benfica and Porto but face competition from teams in Spain and Germany.
Representatives from Mainz and Espanyol were among the spectators at the Rudolf-Tonn-Stadion (Schwechat) during the friendly between Nigeria and Czech Republic last Wednesday.
Joel Obi was not in action against the Czechs having started the Super Eagles 2-1 loss to England at Wembley.
The attacking midfielder will enter the final twelve months of his contract with Torino at the start of next month and an exit from the club before the window closes cannot be ruled out as he hasn't been offered a new deal.
The 27-year-old has spent the whole of his professional career with Italian clubs.
