Rohr Lists Three Formations To Be Considered Vs Argentina, Hopes Musa Scores Again
Published: June 25, 2018With Ahmed Musa in fine form even before he reported for international duty, Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr is hoping the Leicester City striker will find the net again in tomorrow's clash against Argentina and helps his team progress to the last sixteen of the World Cup.
The former Kano Pillars star took his tally in the World Cup to four goals, with a brace against Iceland last Friday, and became Nigeria's top scorer in the history of the competition in the process.
''We are very happy about Musa's nice goals, these were goals constructed by the team, no set-pieces, through fast attacks,'' Rohr said at today's pre-match press conference.
''Musa scored the goals with wonderful technique and I hope he will do it again. He worked very hard, he didn't play last year in Leicester, I asked the team for him to go to a club to play to have competition and be match fit.
''He returned to Russia, I saw him in Moscow end of February and he was fighting, working very hard and deserved to come back to the national team as a starting player.
''We have good strikers in his position, I hope the confidence he has now will help the team to have a good result against Argentina.''
Rohr was evasive when he was questioned about the formation that he will use in tomorrow's match, but mentioned three systems that the Super Eagles can lineup with.
''I cannot give you our exact plan how we will play tomorrow, we will have a fighting team of Super Eagles.
''We know that it will be hard battle against Argentina, we have to win, perhaps a draw can be enough for us but it is not sure, we also want to win so it will be a spectacular football game tomorrow.
''We have two organizations which is possible to play with my team, we can play 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 but we can also play 3-5-2 like we did in the friendly against Argentina in November,'' he concluded.

Nigeria are in the driving seat ahead of Argentina and Iceland, and will qualify for the knockout stages with a win against their bogey team in St. Petersburg.
