Rohr On Germany National Team : They Didn't Deserve To Qualify For Last 16
Published: June 28, 2018Super Eagles German manager, Gernot Rohr could not hide his disappointment following Germany's elimination from the 2018 World Cup.
Joachim Löw's side crashed out of the tournament on Wednesday after losing 2-0 to South Korea, a result that saw them finish last in the Group F standings.
''It was not a team. Maybe the big teams never die, but Germany is not a great team based on these three group matches,'' Rohr was quoted as saying by French radio station Europe1.
''This year it was not a team, this team did not deserve to qualify for the knockout stages.''
Rohr concluded by saying that the German national team players were arrogant and did not live up to expectations.
Though coach Low extended his contract just before the World Cup until 2022, his future is up in the air as a result of the defending champions elimination.
