Official : FK Austria Vienna Bring In Another Nigerian Face

Through their official website, Austrian Bundesliga outfit Austria Vienna have announced the signing of former Flying Eagles invitee Bright Edomwonyi on a four-year contract.

The deal was completed on the same day that Portuguese Primeira Liga club C.S. Marítimo secured the services of former Austria Vienna attacking midfielder Alhassan Ibrahim.

Edomwonyi began his professional career with Red Bull Salzburg and spent time on loan at FC Liefering, Wacker Innsbruck and TSV Hartberg, before a permanent move to Sturm Graz in 2015 and was most recently on the books of Rizespor in Turkey.

Speaking on the deal, Edomwonyi said : ''I'm glad that I'm here now, Austria Vienna is a good club - that's a good step for me. I want to help the team and will do my best to achieve our goals.

''The infrastructure is really great - with the new training pitches and the stadium - that's really motivating.

''I already know some players from the current Austria team, I know the league very well, that's an advantage.''

Bright Edomwonyi was invited to the Nigeria U20s in 2013 ahead of the African U-20 Championship in Algeria.
