Ex-Chelsea Chief Emenalo Convinces Barca Wonderkid To Join Monaco Ahead Of Arsenal
Published: July 02, 2018French Ligue 1 club Monaco have won the race for the signature of highly-rated Barcelona youth-teamer Robert Navarro.
Monaco have informed via their official website that Navarro has joined the club on undisclosed terms.
It was claimed that the attacking midfielder
was on the wishlist of Premier League duo Manchester City and Arsenal
in the summer transfer window, but former Chelsea chief Michael Emenalo
convinced him to join Monaco.
Emenalo has
overseen the arrivals of three talented 16-year-olds - Tiago Ribeiro
(Porto), Eliot Matazo (Anderlecht) and Willem Geubbels (Lyon) - to
Monaco in the ongoing transfer window.
The
former Nigeria international also played a key role in the transfer of
Pietro Pellegri, who was 16 when he signed for Monaco from Genoa in the
January transfer window.
Monaco appointed Michael Emenalo to the role of Sporting Director in November 2017 after ten years of hard work at Chelsea.
