Belgian Club Gent Interested In Signing Chelsea's Nigeria International Defender
Published: July 03, 2018Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that ambitious Belgian First Division A club Gent are interested in signing Chelsea central defender Kenneth Omeruo in the summer transfer window.
Omeruo has seen his stock rise on the back of his impressive display for the Nigeria National Team at the 2018 World Cup, he started the Super Eagles last two games against Iceland and Argentina.
It is one hundred percent confirmed that Gent have opened talks with the Super Eagles number 22 over a move to the Ghelamco Arena and first approached him last month in London ahead of a friendly against England.
Gent are in the market for a defensive reinforcement following the transfers of Samuel Gigot and Stefan Mitrović to Spartak Moscow and Strasbourg respectively this summer.
Omeruo underwent a trial at Standard Liege in 2011 and did well but just as they were about to wrap up the deal, the Belgian First Division A club changed coaches.
The Sunshine Stars product has enjoyed loan spells at ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasımpaşa and Alanyaspor since joining Chelsea six years ago.
