Through official channels, Cypriot First Division club Nea Salamis Famagusta FC have announced that they have secured the services of experienced Nigerian striker Kingsley Onuegbu.

The 32-year-old has inked a one-year contract with The Red-Whites, who have the right to renew the deal for another year next summer.

Onuegbu, who has a German passport, previously spent the whole of his career with German teams, starting off at SC Idar-Oberstein, where he spent three years before switching to Eintracht Braunschweig in 2008.

SpVgg Greuther Fürth, SV Sandhausen and MSV Duisburg are the other teams the frontman has played for in Germany.

He scored over 100 goals in German football for the clubs he represented in more than 300 appearances.

The new Cypriot First Division season gets underway on August 24, with Nea Salamis Famagusta FC taking on APOEL in their opening game.
