Super Eagles Utility Man Idowu Mentions Three Different Positions He Can Play
Published: July 15, 2018Super Eagles utility man Brian Idowu has revealed that he is comfortable playing in three different positions.
The former Amkar Perm star completed a move to Russian champions Lokomotiv Moscow last week and has told the club's official website that he can play multiple positions in defense.
At the 2018 World Cup, the Saint Petersburg-born player started at left-back against Croatia before he was re-positioned as a left wing-back in the Super Eagles last two games with Iceland and Argentina, and has also been deployed as a central defender in the national team's training sessions.
''Over the past few years I have played in three positions: on the left, right and in the center of defense,'' Idowu told fclm.ru.
''Everywhere I feel comfortable. The main thing is to get the maximum out of yourself and benefit the team.''
Idowu made his unofficial debut for Lokomotiv Moscow in their goalless draw with Wolfsberg two days ago.
