Super Eagles Star Ighalo Shows Off Penalty Taking Skills In Changchun Yatai Win
Published: August 01, 2018 Changchun Yatai have climbed to 12th on the Chinese Super League table following their impressive 3-0 win over Dalian Yifang at Changchun's People Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
The visitors were only able to hold on until the 10th minute when Ighalo opened the scoring from the penalty spot, before Mierzejewski increased the lead just before the half-hour mark.
In the 39th minute, the Nigeria international got a crucial third goal for Changchun Yatai after converting a spot kick.
Halfway through the 2018 season, Ighalo has now tallied 11 goals from 15 starts in the Chinese topflight, and only Shanghai SIPG's Wu Lei has scored more goals than the former Watford striker.
The highlight of Ighalo's season so far, on a personal level, was the four goals he scored against Guizhou Zhicheng on match day seven.
He was involved in all three of the Super Eagles matches at the 2018 World Cup, starting against Croatia and coming off the bench against Iceland and Argentina.
