UWCL Last 32: Ex-Falconets Stars To Face Barcelona; Ebere's Barcelona FA Paired With Glasgow City
Published: August 17, 2018The 2018–19 UEFA Women's Champions League last 32 draw has been made and three Nigerian stars have discovered their next opponents.
Ngozi Ebere's Barcelona FA topped Group 2 of the qualifying round with maximum nine points and their reward is hosting Glasgow City in the first leg that will hold in Cyprus on the 12 or 13 September before traveling to the United Kingdom two weeks later.
The defender started for the Cypriot champions in all the group matches against Slovan Bratislava, Olimpija Ljubljana and Minsk.
Kazakhstani champions BIIK Kazygurt, who pay the wages of former Falconets strikers Chinwendu Ihezuo and Charity Adule, have a difficult draw after they were paired with Primera División side Barcelona.
The Nigerian duo will host the Spanish side in the first leg on 12-13 September before traveling away for the second leg.
In the qualifying rounds, BIIK Kazygurt battled Elpides Karditsas, Landhaus Wien and Rīgas FS in Group 7, scoring nine goals in three matches with Adule and Ihezuo accounting for two of the goals.
This season's Women's Champions League final will hold at the Ferencváros Stadium in Budapest, Hungary on Saturday 18 May 2019.
