Italian Serie B club Spezia Calcio write on their official website that highly-rated Nigerian striker David Okereke has committed his future to the club after penning a fresh four-year contract.

The agreement between club and player will keep the striker in Liguria until at least the end of the 2021-2022 campaign.

Okereke began his career in Italy with Lavagnese before his shift to Spezia in 2016; he rose through the ranks before making his professional debut against Novara on April 9, 2016.

He has played 38 games in total for Spezia, including their youth team, scoring eight goals while providing one assist.

Okereke is a product of  Football College Abuja, the academy that produced AS Roma young duo Sadiq Umar and Nura Abdullahi.

The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Cosenza and was directly involved in five goals in their first three matches in the Serie C playoffs.
