Rohr On Victor Moses Retirement: Almost Impossible For Chelsea Star To Rescind His Decision
Published: August 25, 2018
Gernot Rohr, the Manager of the Super Eagles has admitted that it will impossible for Victor Moses to rescind his decision to retire from international duties at this stage.
The Chelsea star took to the social media to announce his retirement from international matches at the age of 27 last week.
With the Super Eagles of Nigeria set for a crucial African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier with Seychelles on September 7, Rohr says he will prefer to allow Moses to have his motivation back before trying to make him perform a u-turn.
"Victor Moses don't want to play for the Super Eagles at this stage," Rohr said at a press conference attended by allnigeriasoccer.com on Friday.
"I hope he can comeback when his motivation is back.''
Meanwhile, captain John Mikel Obi was excused for the game in order to gain full fitness.
"Mikel was injured and just returned. He asked for more time to be fit. He was honest and I like that," the former Bayern Munich star continued.

"There are other players that can step up in terms of taking responsibility in his absence when we face Seychelles. It's a mixture of youth and experience. We will be fine."
