Omeruo Among 7 Foreign Pros Excused From Friendly Vs Liberia, 4 Home-Based Players Invited
Published: September 09, 2018The Nigeria Football Federation have called up four fresh invitees to the national team ahead of Tuesday's friendly against Liberia and seven foreign-based professionals that started against Seychelles have been excused from the international match in Monrovia.
Enyimba duo Mfon Udoh and Sunday Adetunji, FC Ifeanyi Ubah defender Adeleye Olamilekan and Lobi Stars star Ebube Duru join goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa as the five home-based players in line to face the Lone Stars.
Elche glovesman Francis Uzoho will not be in goal for the Nigerian National Team for the first time in eleven matches while defenders Brian Idowu, Leon Balogun and Kenneth Omeruo will not add to their international caps.
Senior players Ahmed Musa and Eddy Onazi have also been given permission to return to their respective clubs as well as Chinese-based striker Odion Ighalo.
The new 18-man roster contains two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and six strikers including Leicester City star Kelechi Iheanacho.
