Club Brugge Star Danjuma Selected In Netherlands Final 25-Man Squad
Published: October 05, 2018There is no going back on the decision of Royal Dutch Football Association to cap-tie Lagos-born Club Brugge midfielder Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
On Friday, Danjuma was included by manager Ronald Koeman in his final 25-man squad for the upcoming games against Germany and Belgium.
The 21-year-old is among the four new faces named to the roster, the others being PSV trio Steven Bergwijn, Denzel Dumfries and Pablo Rosario.
In the event that Danjuma makes his senior debut for the Netherlands in their UEFA Nations League match with Germany on October 13, he will become cap-tied to the Dutch and won't be eligible to play for the Super Eagles again.
The former PSV youth-teamer is provisionally cap-tied to the Dutch having represented their U21 team in the European U21 Championship qualifiers.
The Dutch Federation are paying the Nigeria Football Federation back in their own coin after two Dutch-born defenders in Tyronne Ebuehi and William Troost-Ekong committed their international future to the Super Eagles.
