2019 Africa Cup Of Nations Qualifier: Super Eagles Star John Ogu Hungry For Win Against Libya
Published: October 13, 2018While he may not be guaranteed a spot in the starting line-up, Hapoel Beer Sheva star John Ogu is confident that the Super Eagles will register their second win in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers when they battle Libya in Uyo on Saturday.
Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi is sure to start against the Mediterranean Knights, leaving the other holding midfield role a straight battle between Oghenekaro Etebo and Ogu.
Despite his bit-part role for the Super Eagles, the Israeli-based midfielder is one of the senior figures in the team and often seen motivating the players from the sidelines and one of the first to rejoice when they score.
''We will fight for maximum points today. We know the importance of the game against the Libyans,'' said John Ogu.
''So we urge our fans to come out and give all their support as we aim to win for them.''

The 30-year-old Ogu was handed captaincy duties in the national team's exhibition match against Liberia last month.
