Gernot Rohr Credits Super Eagles Spy After 4-0 Win Against Libya
Published: October 15, 2018Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has credited one of his foreign assistants, Tunisian Nabil Trabelsi, in the wake of the national team's 4-0 hammering of Libya on Saturday evening.
Trabelsi, who is officially designated as a video analyst, monitored the Libyan players at close quarters when they forced South Africa to a goalless draw in Durban on September 8.
''We also knew this opponent, Libya has been observed by our scout (Trabelsi) in South Africa where they played a very good first half,'' said Rohr at the post-match press conference.
''Of course now, we have to do a second step, it is not finished now because we have to win again. ''
Rohr has revealed that the Super Eagles are
targeting at least a draw in tomorrow's reverse fixture in Sfax and highlighted that the Mediterranean Knights won't be pushovers.
He said: ''We wanted four points from the two matches and we are still not going to underrate Libya.
''They play well, they fight, we were lucky to score that early goal from the penalty. Don't forget we had problems in the first half, we have to be stronger if we want to win the game''.
After three matches in Group E of AFCON qualifying, the Super Eagles are second-placed with six points and their next two matches are away in Tunisia and South Africa.
