Nigeria U20s Set To Beef Up Squad With Goztepe Striker Dubbed 'The New Emmanuel Adebayor'
Published: October 17, 2018Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Flying Eagles coach Paul Aigbogun has set the wheels in motion to hand a call-up to Göztepe striker Yunusa Owolabi Muritala ahead of the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
Aigbogun has been in touch with Muritala and has given his word that the player will be observed before the tournament in Republic of Niger.
Muritala stands at an imposing 1.92 meters and has been compared to Togolese star of Nigerian descent Emmanuel Adebayor and Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
He was scouted one and a half years ago by Turkish agent Serdar Ertemcoz and chose to join Göztepe despite interest from unnamed clubs in Germany and Belgium.
The striker arrived in Turkey after the close of the transfer window, so cannot make his professional debut until January 2019, but can feature for the club in the reserve league and often trains with the first team.
The five-year deal Muritala has agreed with Göztepe will be activated when the January transfer window opens for business.
