Official: Goalscoring Defender Extends Contract With Chelsea
Published: October 24, 2018Through a statement on their official website, Chelsea have confirmed that Marcos Alonso has committed his long-term future to Chelsea by signing a contract until 2023.
Since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in 2016, the Spanish left back has netted 15 goals from 92 appearances, while setting up 11 goals.
Speaking on the new deal, Alonso told Chelsea's official website :''I am so happy to stay here longer and to keep playing for one of the best teams in the world.
''It’s been a very good two seasons and I am looking forward to more.''
A product of Real Madrid youth team, Alonso won the Premier League in his first season with Chelsea before lifting the Emirates FA Cup the following season.
The 27-year-old previously wore the jerseys of Bolton Wanderers, Fiorentina and Sunderland.
