No Debut For Rangers' Nigerian Striker In Europa League Clash Vs Spartak Moscow
Promising Nigerian teenager Adedapo Awokoya-Mebude will not make his professional debut when Rangers face Spartak Moscow in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The center forward is one of the three Nigerian players registered for the competition by the Glasgow club, the others being Sadiq Umar and Ovie Ejaria.

Mebude figured for Rangers U19 side in their 2-2 draw with Spartak Moscow this afternoon at Forthbank Stadium, which effectively rules him out of the match day three Europa League fixture at Ibrox Stadium.

The 17-year-old replaced Serge Atakyi at the break and made an immediate impact, winning the free kick which led to Rangers' second goal scored by Stephen Kelly in the 49th minute.

Tipped to be the next star from the Rangers Academy, Mebude showed why he is highly rated after coming off the bench to score a hat-trick for the Reserves in their 6-2 hammering of Motherwell last month.

Born in London, he is eligible to represent the English, Scottish and Nigerian senior teams at international level.
