Netherlands Leading Nigeria In Race For Prolific Ajax Amsterdam Striker, Scores On U16 Debut
The Royal Dutch Football Association are leading their Nigerian counterparts in the race for the services of talented Ajax Amsterdam striker Dillon Hoogewerf, having recently promoted him to their U16 team.

Previously, the center forward had represented the Netherlands U15 selection, for whom he netted 6 goals in eight appearances.

Hoogewerf rose to the task on his debut for the Dutch U16 team, scoring after three minutes in their 2-0 win over Hungary at Telki edzőközpont on Friday, October 16.

The 2003-born striker was an unused substitute against the same opponents six days ago.

Before reporting for international duty, Hoogewerf was among the top scorers for Ajax youth team across all levels with five goals in all competitions.

The 15-year-old scored braces against FC Utrecht and FC Twente in the preliminary round of the U17 Eredivisie and netted once in the Cup.

Dillon Hoogewerf's father is Dutch and he has a Nigerian mother which makes him eligible to play for the Golden Eaglets.
