Published: November 03, 2018Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu will not be on parade at Groupama Stadium (Décines-Charpieu) this evening when Bordeaux face Lyon on game week 12 in the French Ligue 1.
The former Gent star has not been named in Bordeaux' 18-man squad, therefore, he will definitely not make his 15th appearance of the season in all competitions.
Kalu's omission is no surprise as he was absent from Bordeaux training on Thursday as a result of a throat related ailment.
At this moment, the 21-year-old has yet to withdraw from the Nigeria squad for their upcoming matches against South Africa (Africa Cup of Nations qualifier) and Uganda (international friendly).
In Kalu's last appearance for Bordeaux, he impressed against Nice with several scouts representing top teams in Europe in attendance.
The winger joined Bordeaux on a five-year deal in August 2018.
