West Brom Block Highly-Rated Winger From Attending Nigeria U20 Get-Together
Published: November 10, 2018Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that highly-rated West Brom winger Yusuff Ojebode will not be linking up with the Nigeria U20 National Team at their get-together in Abuja next week.
The 2000-born player had been in line for a potential debut at next month's 2018 WAFU U20 Nations Cup in Lome, Togo if the Baggies higher-ups permitted him to travel to Nigeria.
Ojebode is eligible to represent the English youth teams but opted to commit his international future to Nigeria.
The Nigeria Football Federation's request was turned down because the player recently returned from a long-term injury.
The winger has played only 22 minutes of football for The Baggies U18 team since he was cleared to return to action late October.
He suffered a grade three tear in his quad, which is a serious injury as he was not able to kick a football for several months.
