AFCONQ Vs RSA: Every Word Said By Delta State Governor To Super Eagles Stars & Ahmed Musa's Response
The Executive Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has pledged to give the Super Eagles $25,000.00 for every goal they score in the upcoming AFCON qualifying match against South Africa on Saturday at the FNB Stadium, Johannesburg, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Governor Okowa who made this pledge after the Super Eagles training session on Tuesday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba also promised to host the players to a dinner upon arrival from South Africa irrespective of the result.

Okowa while speaking to the players expressed his gratitude to the NFF and the Super Eagles for accepting to come and train in Asaba.

''We are so happy to have you here, as a State we are a forerunner in terms of sports but we all agree that the only thing lacking in the state in terms of sports is hosting Super Eagles matches and campings, partly because we didn’t have such a facility like this one, but now that we have one, we think its right we start doing that,'' Okowa said.

''I want to assure you of the best hospitality throughout your stay here in Asaba and am sure the results on Saturday will be a success.

''In our own little way, we as a State will give you a little motivation going into Saturday’s match against South Africa.

''For every goal you score against South Africa, we are going to give you $25,000.00.''

In response to the Governor’s words, Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa thanked Governor Okowa and the people of Delta State for the hospitality the team has received since they arrived for the camping.

''We are very happy to be here, for must of us, it’s the first time we are here and so far we are so happy with the hospitality we have been receiving.

''We also grateful for the promise you made to us and by the grace of God when we come back on Sunday for the dinner, it will be a celebratory one.''

The Super Eagles will have two more training sessions in Asaba on Wednesday and Thursday before flying out to Johannesburg via a chattered flight.

Nigeria will also play Uganda next Tuesday in an international friendly in Asaba at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.
