Nigeria Coach Excited About The New Eden Hazard: Watford Teen Sensation Named In WAFU U20 Cup Squad
Published: November 15, 2018According to information gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com, Watford wonderkid Jayden Bennetts, who has drawn comparisons to Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard, has been included in the Nigeria squad for the upcoming WAFU U20 Cup of Nations.
Flying Eagles coach Paul Aigbogun did his homework well before offering him a wild card for the tournament in Togo as the player was extensively monitored during a recent scouting trip to the United Kingdom.
Due to the aforementioned reason, Jayden Bennetts will not undergo trials with the Flying Eagles at their get-together in Abuja and will report for international duty in the next two weeks just before the squad travels to Lome.
There is just one snag - Jayden Bennetts is awaiting positive feedback from the Hornets chiefs before confirming his participation in the WAFU U20 Cup of Nations because the tournament is being played outside Fifa's international calendar, so he needs to be granted time off.
The 2001-born player, who is also eligible to represent England and Germany internationally, is already in the possession of a Nigerian passport, which has paved the way for him to make his debut for the African powerhouse.
The creative midfielder has been on the books of Watford since he was an Under-8.
