The New Premier League Record Leon Balogun Helped Brighton Set In 3-1 Win Against The Eagles
Published: December 05, 2018Leon Balogun helped Brighton & Hove to set a new Premier League record in their 3-1 win against Crystal Palace at the American Express Community Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Three first half goals from Glenn Murray, Leon Balogun and Florin Andone sealed the victory over the Eagles.
According to Goal, it was the first time that two substitutes have scored in the first half since the formation of the Premier League.
The new record was masterminded by the Nigeria international who registered his name on the scoresheet 25 seconds after coming off the bench.
Florin Andone was introduced as a sub in the 35th minute and increased the Seagulls lead when he slotted into the far corner in the fourth minute of first-half stoppage time.
Nine minutes from time, Palace reduced the deficit through Luka Milivojevic, who converted a spot kick after Balogun fouled Zaha in the area.
