Super Eagles Star Eddy Onazi Named In Turkish Super Lig Team Of The Week
Published: December 11, 2018Super Eagles star Eddy Onazi has been named in the Turkish Super Lig Team of the Week for the last round of matches in the division.
The central midfielder has been rewarded with a spot in the Team of the Week by Whoscored following his 89th minute goal which helped Trabzonspor to defeat Konyaspor 3-0 on Saturday, December 8.
In the star-studded best eleven, Onazi was deployed as a central midfielder along with Kayserispor's Tjaronn Chery, who picked up the Player of the Week accolade following a man of the match display in a 3-0 win over Kasimpasa
Of the eleven players named to the Team of the Week, the Nigeria international had the fifth highest rating at 8.5.
Against Konyaspor, Onazi made a team-high four tackles, had two interceptions, committed five fouls, attempted three shots with one on target and made two key passes.
The 25-year-old has started all the matches played by Trabzonspor in the league this season, with the exception of the match day 14 fixture vs Kayserispor which he missed due to accumulated yellow cards.
