Sporting Charleroi Concerned About Fitness Of Osimhen, Eagles Striker Undergoes Scan
Published: December 17, 2018Belgian First Division A club Sporting Charleroi are concerned about the fitness of Victor Osimhen ahead of their next league game against Zulte-Waregem on Sunday.
It would be recalled that the Nigeria international had to be substituted in the closing minutes of Sporting Charleroi's 2-0 win vs Gent last Friday after sustaining an injury.
Speaking at a press conference after the game, manager Felice Mazzù stated : ''We may lose Victor Osimhen for the next few weeks, and everyone has seen what impact the latter has on our game...
''This is the lot of all the teams, but we have players to replace the injured and the suspended.''
Osimhen has claimed he only suffered a cramp but Sporting Charleroi are not convinced and the player was due to undergo a scan on Monday to determine the extent of his injury with the result expected on Tuesday, according to Belgian newspaper La Dernière Heure.
The Wolfsburg loanee tallied his ninth goal in all competitions against KAA Gent.
