Nigerian Federation Schedule World Class Friendly With AFCON Most Successful Team
The Super Eagles and Pharaohs of Egypt are scheduled to meet in a world class friendly in Nigeria on March 26, 2019, the Egyptian Football Association confirmed on Thursday.

It would be recalled that the president of the Nigerian Federation, Amaju Pinnick, recently stated that a friendly has been agreed with one of the top three teams in Africa without mentioning the identity of the country.

With seven titles won, Egypt are the most successful team in Africa Cup of Nations history and have already qualified for next summer's showpiece with two games to spare.

In seventeen previous appearances against the Egyptians including the African Games, the Super Eagles have the edge when it comes to the head-to-head record with seven games won, five drawn and five lost.

The last friendly to take place between the two nations was on November 25, 2002 when they drew 1-1.

Ahmed El Mohamady (Aston Villa), Ahmed Hegazi (West Brom), Sam Morsy (Wigan), Mohamed El Neny (Arsenal), Ramadan Sobhi (Huddersfield) Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) are the English-based players in the Egyptian squad.
