Arsenal Legend Wright Recalls Iwobi Heroics Versus Liverpool, Predicts Tough Anfield Battle
Published: December 28, 2018
Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes Saturday's Premier League clash between leaders Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield Stadium will not come easy for the Gunners.
Wright was previewing the weekend's games alongside former Chelsea right back Mario Melchiot on Premier League Today.
In doing so, Wright who is now an analyst on Sky Sports also recalled the great performance of Nigeria international Alex Iwobi in the 1-1 draw between the teams at the Emirates on November 3.
"Arsenal will have to deal with the pace of Salah, Mane, Firmino and Shaqari, those kinds of challenges and they've not been doing that very well.
"Emery brought Iwobi in at the Emirates and he made a big difference (setting up Alexandre Lacazette's 82nd minute equaliser) but this Liverpool is different now. They've got a big mentality," Wrighty as he us fondly called by former teammates stressed.
"Liverpool will feel they have lost two points rather than gain two points if it ends in a draw," Melchiot added.
Arsenal are fifth on the table with 38 points after their 1-1 draw against Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Boxing Day, December 26.
