Official : Central Midfielder Returns To Chelsea Following End Of Loan Agreement
Published: January 03, 2019Scottish Championship club Falkirk have confirmed via their official website that Ruben Sammut has returned to Chelsea.
The central midfielder transferred to Falkirk in July 2018 on a half-season loan deal which has not been extended.
Born in Maidstone 21 years ago, Sammut make his professional debut during Falkirk's Scottish League Cup defeat against Montrose and played 16 games in all competitions before returning to England.
He joined Chelsea at U8 level and progressed through the age groups before his appointment as captain of the development squad during the 2017-2018 season.
Sammut is eligible to represent his country of birth England as well as Malta, and has turned out for Scotland's U16, U19, U20 and U21 teams.
