Barnsley In Advanced Talks With Promising Goalkeeper On The Radar Of Nigerian Federation
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that EFL League One club Barnsley are in advanced talks with representatives of Edward Ogbegbor-Onaiwu over the signing of the promising goalkeeper in the January transfer window.

Ogbebor-Onaiwu shone as The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw by Sheffield United in an U18 Professional Development League fixture on Saturday.

Barnsley have to thank the Nigerian goalkeeper that they came away with a point as he saved a powerful penalty from Brunt with 20 minutes remaining after a handball inside the box.

Ogbebor-Onaiwu posted a shutout in Barnely's 1-0 win against Birmingham City in another trial game and also impressed in a friendly against Manchester United.

The 18-year-old has been called up to train with the Nigerian U17, U20 and U23 National Teams in the past though he is eligible to represent England at international level.

He previously played for the youth teams of Crystal Palace, Charlton Athletic, AFC Wimbledon and Stevenage.
