Official : Chelsea Confirm Talented Midfielder Has Inked New Deal
Published: January 06, 2019Chelsea have confirmed that Austria youth international Thierno Ballo has inked a new contract with the London club.
In their match report shortly after their U18 team's hard fought 3-2 win against Leicester City, The Blues wrote on their official website that Ballo signed a first professional contract at the club this past week.
The attacking midfielder celebrated his seventeenth birthday on January 2, and has been rewarded with a new deal six months after signing a scholarship.
Ballo operated as the most advanced midfielder against The Foxes which paraded Nigerian central defender Edward Elewa-Ikpakwu, formerly on the books of Manchester City.
The Abidjan-born starlet came close to scoring his sixth goal in the U18 Premier League this term but hit the post after half an hour.
He started his career with SV Chemie Linz and had stops at LASK Linz and Bayer Leverkusen before joining Chelsea.
