Bukayo Saka Assist Provider To Amaechi As Arsenal U23s Are Held At Brighton & Hove
Published: January 08, 2019England youth international Xavier Amaechi's injury worries are behind him after his outstanding performance for Arsenal in their 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove in a Premier League 2 contest at the People's Pension Stadium on Monday night.
It was the winger's first start for the Gunners since August 31, having recovered from an injury that had kept him on the sidelines for about three months.
While Amaechi operated from the right wing, Bukayo Saka was deployed as a left winger with Joseph Olowu starting in defense.
Amaechi fired home from the area to give Arsenal the lead in the 43rd minute following a brilliant solo run by Saka from his own half.
With the scoreboard reading 2-1 in favour of the hosts, Freddie Ljungberg's substitution paid off for Arsenal as Gedion Zelalem netted the equaliser, finishing from close range after Amaechi delivered a dangerous ball into the box on 86 minutes.
