New Sonderjyske Signing Yahaya Hopes To Join Nigeria U20 Despite Controversial Omission
Published: January 09, 2019Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that new Sonderjyske signing Nazifi Yahaya has not given up hope of playing for the Flying Eagles at the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Republic of the Niger.
Yahaya, who clocked 18 last month, was sensationally dropped by Flying Eagles gaffer Paul Aigbogun when he announced what you can refer to as the provisional roster last week.
It is claimed that Aigbogun took that decision because of uncertainty surrounding his availability for the upcoming tournament.
Yahaya's representatives have opened a line of communication with the Nigeria Football Federation, informing the local football regulator that the attacker will honour an invitation to join the national team on the proviso that an official invitation is sent to his new employer Sonderjyske.
Sonderjyske revealed last week at the player's unveiling that he will be permitted to play at the U20 AFCON as well as the FIFA U20 World Cup in the summer if the Flying Eagles qualify.
Nazifi Yahaya is still in Denmark but expected to arrive in Nigeria by this weekend.
