Official + Exclusive Photo : Ex-Nigeria U23 Captain Okechukwu Completes Move To Rizespor
Published: January 25, 2019Through a statement on their official website, Turkish Super Lig side Rizespor have confirmed the signing of former Nigeria U23 skipper Azubuike Okechukwu.
The central midfielder has been loaned out for the remainder of the 2018-2019 season by his Egyptian Premier League club, Pyramids FC.
Aged 21, Okechukwu began his career abroad with Yeni Malatyaspor, for whom he made 87 appearances.
Prior to his switch to Turkey, he was regarded as one of the most promising Nigerian players in the domestic championship while on the books of Bayelsa United.
He is the second Nigerian player to be loaned by Rizespor in the January transfer window, following in the footsteps of international teammate Chidozie Awaziem who was signed from Porto.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Okechukwu will play with the number 40 kit for the rest of the season.
